Important legal considerations
State Laws: While federal law provides a baseline of protection, many states have additional regulations concerning gift cards, including requirements for cash redemption of small balances and restrictions on fees. It's crucial to be aware of and comply with the specific laws in the states where you operate. For example, California requires gift cards with balances under $10 to be redeemable for cash upon request.
